8:00am Opening Ceremony and Managers Meeting at Tamworth Sports Dome (Special Guest Olympians and other Performers).
9:30am Games Begin at sporting venues

Football – Gipps Street Playing Fields, Gipps Street Tamworth

Netball – Sports Dome, 7-9 Jack Smyth Drive, Tamworth

Rugby League – Plain St Fields, Tamworth

Gymnastics – Tamworth Gymnastics Centre, Longyard Dr, Tamworth

Tennis – Treloar Park Courts, Napier St Tamworth
5pm Games conclude
SUNDAY 21st July
8:30am Games begin

Accommodation Opportunities

These charges are in addition to the team costs for registration fees and existing package. Please note coaches and Managers are only charged a registration fee of $10 per person (NPG merchandise).

Residential (Boarding style) Accommodation

The residential accommodation is offered at Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School. Package includes:

  • Dormitory style accommodation
  • Dinner Friday night
  • Dinner Saturday night
  • Breakfast Saturday and Sunday
  • BYO sleeping bag and pillow

Cost $180 per person (all inclusive)

The residential accommodation is offered at Lake Keepit Sport and Recreation Centre. Package includes:

  • Dormitory style accommodation
  • Teacher rooms
  • Dinner Friday night
  • Dinner Saturday night
  • Breakfast Saturday and Sunday
  • Packed lunch for Saturday and Sunday
  • BYO sleeping bag
  • Linen available @ $17 per person

Responsibilities of Team/School Management

All Management must submit WWC check or be employed in the education system to be able to utilise accommodation facilities. We have a minimum staffing of 1 adult to 8 children for accommodation. The responsibility for the behaviour and safety of the students sits with the staff member responsible for them during their stay.

Official Photography

There will be an official photographer for the National Primary Games for 2020. Photos will be available with photographers covering all sports throughout the weekend.

Key Information

Managers Information

All Managers will be sent information in preparation for successful weekend. They will also be able to collect their equipment including tickets and hats at the Opening Ceremony for each sport on the Saturday morning at the Managers meeting at 8:30am.

There will be an official NPG photographer who will be taking hundreds of action and still shots over the weekend. These will be available for purchase from site.


For all sports other than Gymnastics and Tennis, teams will compete in at least 5 matches that are 12 minute halves with a two minute half time. All teams will play a Final Series at their level to ensure everyone finishes with an exciting game. For example: In Netball there will be 17th vs 18th playoff Final. For information specific to other sports go to the sports page of the website.


Lunch will be available at all sporting venues. Local associations will be running either BBQ’s or opening Canteens for the duration of the games.

Opening Ceremony

An Opening Ceremony will be held first thing on Saturday at the Tamworth Sports Dome (7-9 Jack Smyth Drive). This event is for players, their families and support staff. The Opening Ceremony includes very special guest Olympians and a number of other high profile entertainers to inspire the children.

Spirit of the Games

There will be no presentation of Awards at each sporting event. There will only be one award given for each sport as this event is experience driven not results focused and this will be sent to the team that is voted to display the ‘Spirit of the Games’

The Macquarie Bank Spirit of the Sport Certificates will be presented to a team that displays excellent sportsmanship on the field, behavior off it and will be voted by all team managers, referees and sport conveners.
